Setting of Intentions for 2022

Topics Include: 1) The three fundamental ideas that underlie this practice: First, that mind is the forerunner of all things. Thoughts, intentions, volitions, and beliefs trigger our actions in the world that have consequences and determine the outcome of our lives. Second, each of us embodies unique qualities and gifts that we bring into the world and our purpose is to wake up to these qualities and realize them in our lives. Third, we carry within ourselves an innermost essence, our Buddha Nature, which is the same for all sentient beings. 2) The three levels of intention: 1. resolutions that we set for the coming year; 2. setting our deeper aspirations that are reflections of our specific gifts as human beings; and 3. reflecting on our Buddha Nature or that aspect of ourselves that is reflected in our sense of love and compassion for all other beings. 3) Meditation on the setting of resolutions for 2022. 4) Meditation on realizing our deepest potential as a human being. 5) Meditation on realizing our innermost Buddha Nature. 6) Sharing of a question on aspirations and the tendency for ego to intrude. 7) Sharing of a question on how to fulfill your aspirations through the power of love and compassion.

    • Aloha Elaine: Thank you for your question. We have returned to the temple for in-person sittings so you are welcome to join us on Saturdays at 4pm. If you would like to be placed on our email list for news and announcements, please let me know and I would be happy to do so. Mahalo, Greg.
